Since the early 1970’s the Newman Club has been active on the SDSM&T campus. The club, which meets the spiritual needs of our Catholic students, has been located at 3 E. Quincy since the fall of 1973. Over the years the “ Newman Center” has seen hundreds of Catholic students come and go and has taken care of them physically, emotionally and spiritually... Structurally, the Center has undergone several changes: the orange shag carpets and throw pillows in the chapel have been replaced with new flooring and wooden pews. The chapel door, once a rusty orange faded to pink, has been replaced with a beautiful glass and wood door.  Today, the serious structural flaws in the house and chapel are causing the Newman Club to abandon the Center and to seek a new place to call home. We hope to move out to a new facility as soon as possible. Students are actively helping in the search for a new location so that the ministry they have known will be able to continue for them and future generations of Tech students.
