What is prayer ?
Prayer is the raising of one’s mind and heart to God. God invites us into a relationship with Him and prayer is our response to Him who is already speaking or, better yet, revealing Himself to us. So, prayer is not just an exchange of words, but it engages the whole person in a relationship with God the Father, through the Son, and in the Holy Spirit.

How can I pray:
Various forms of prayer are presented in the Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC 2623-2649). These various forms include prayer of bless or adoration, prayer of petition, prayer of intercession, prayer of thanksgiving, and prayer of praise.

Meditation
Meditation is a Christian practice of prayer dating back to the early Church. As the Catechism states: “Meditation is above all a quest. The mind seeks to understand the why and how of the Christian life, in order to adhere and respond to what the Lord is asking.”

Meditating on the Sacred Scripture is my favorite way to pray on a daily basis!

The most important thing is to make sure you make time to pray each day. If you don't pick a time and place, it won't happen. I have to wake up 30min earlier that I think I do to make sure I make time to pray. Secondly, pray without ceasing! Don't pray for 30min in the morning and then run around town doing your own thing... make every thought, word, and action a response to the God who has given you all things!
